Chamber to Host "Business Development in a Changing Marketplace"

Monticello Chamber of Commerce will host a workshop sponsored by the
Iowa Department of Economic Development (IDED)
“Business Development in a Changing Marketplace”
Wednesday, July 15th 1 - 4 p.m. at the Renaissance Center.
Leading the workshop is Hilary Greenberg of Greenberg Development
Services (Charlotte NC). She will provide practical advice
on how downtown businesses and revitalization programs can flourish
despite the current economic challenges. This informative workshop will
review a variety of strategies and tactics to strengthen downtown’s
commercial base. Topics to be addressed during the workshop include:
· Tips on how to quickly reassess changing market conditions.
· Immediate activities that could improve retailers’ bottom line.
· New financial incentives or tools that small businesses could
use to offset increasing credit and lending restrictions.
· Suggestions on inexpensive ways to improve your community’s
business retention efforts.
· Examples on how other communities are developing strategies
for maintaining their investment momentum while waiting for commercial
market to stabilize.
This workshop is FREE and open to all businesses.
